Interpretive Framework for Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks

Project Scope

Field to Frame worked with the Regional Headquarters offices in Missoula, Kalispell, and Great Falls to outline the interpretive approach in advance of an exhibit refresh. We met virtually during the COVID pandemic to outline the agency’s goals, review their recent branding work, identify their target audiences, highlight facility and space parameters, and create a full thematic hierarchy. In the end, they each have a series of stories they can share through exhibits that are tied to the main theme: Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks unites people to help protect the integrity of their Montana experience, outdoors.

Project Objectives

  • Create a thematic structure to guide exhibit planning for three FWP Regional Headquarters visitor centers
  • Identify and articulate the interpretive and management goals that interpretation must address for FWP
  • Highlight facility, location, staff and resource parameters and implications to facilitate exhibit planning
